Today, my teacher was telling us a story about her friend's adopted son and how he got picked on for it. One day at school a boy went up to him and said, "I came from my mommy's tummy, where did you come from?" knowing the boy was adopted. His response? "I came from my mommy's heart." He was 6 years old at the time. This GMH


I turned on my TV this afternoon to watch some football. I was confused to see one of the players with pink cleats. But then I saw another. And another. And pink gloves. And pink hats. Then I saw the huge pink ribbons on the goal posts. All these huge, imposing men showing their support of breast cancer awareness for the women in their lives GMH.

Today I was babysitting for a 5-year-old and a 7-year old. The 5-year-old is really afraid of thunder. When it started to thunder, I was surprised when she didn't come ask me to lay in her bed. I went to check and saw her big sister cuddling with her and telling her that thunder was just angels bowling. GMH

This morning as I was packing lunch, about to leave for work, my boyfriend danced into the kitchen singing a made up song consisting of only my name over and over. When he saw me, he turned red and said "Oh, you're still here". Sneaking a peak in the daily routine of someone who really loves me GMH.

I was crying after a bad day. My three year old brother came into my room and cuddled in bed with me. When I didn't acknowledge him, he went out to the kitchen and came back with an ice cream sandwich and his favorite stuffed animal. He put them in bed beside me and petted my hair. His love GMH

Last weekend, an 18-year-old construction worker braved rampaging floods in the Philippines to save more than 30 people, but ended up sacrificing his life in a last trip to rescue a baby girl and her mother who were being swept away on a styrofoam box. Muelmar Magallanes GMH.

My dad works with a man who is mentally disabled. He pays $20 a day to take a taxi to and from work only to be making minimum wage. Then he goes home to an empty apartment and eats chef boyardee every night. My dad now drives him to and from work everyday, even though it's 20 minutes out of his way, and once a week he eats dinner with us. My dad GMH.

I was reading about a little kid whose mom told him the key to life was happiness. When he was in school the teacher asked them to write down what they wanted to be when they grew up. He said happy. They said he didn't understand the assignment. He said they didn't understand life. My generation GMH

Today I was feeling down and went to be alone in an old graveyard. One particular headstone struck me- a married couple's gravestone and only the wife had died- 20 years ago. I touched the vibrant flowers sitting in front of the marble marker. They were fresh. Enduring love, even after death, GMH.

Yesterday my little brother's friend came to spend the night. I was on my way to my room after playing Trouble with them when the little boy says "Your sister is awesome!" my brother responds with "I know". His friend says "I thought you hated her" and he responds with "I thought I did". This GMH

i like that site better than fml.
and yeah, alrite, most of them might be made up.
but not all of them. which makes a difference.
it's reassuring to know kind people still exist in this world.
gives me hope.
